Oaxaca, February 2000

This project is comprised of portraits of people who were close to Nigenda: colleagues from work, relatives, friends and students. He met most of the models after having gone blind, which explains why he did not possess a visual image of their faces. In the braille texts, he describes each person according to the personality or character he perceived during daily contact.

The portraits have been mounted with the idea of reflecting two aspects: on the one hand, the environment in which Nigenda interacted with his subjects: family, rehabilitation and the Photography Center. On the other hand, a kind of time line about those relationships, from left to right, from the oldest to the most recent.
